I just downloaded the Android 16 QPR1 Beta on my Pixel. Here’s how you can get it, too

Google’s opening keynote for I/O 2025 has come and gone, and if you’re an Android fan, one of the biggest pieces of news wasn’t mentioned on stage at all. In the middle of the keynote, Google quietly released the first public beta for Android 16 QPR1.

Android 16 QPR1 is important because it’s our first look at Google’s brand new Material 3 Expressive design language. I just downloaded it on my Pixel, and I’ll show you how to do the same.
