To fast charge or not: OnePlus could be working on a cool solution

Image
Credit: Ryan Haines / Android Authority The newest Oxygen OS 14 Closed Beta references a new “Charging boost” feature. This feature would let you allowlist certain apps. When these apps are being used, and your phone is being charged, the phone could take advantage of its superfast charging speeds that are usually toggled off during regular use. OnePlus smartphones come chock full of top specifications, and it’s no surprise that many find their way to the best smartphone lists year after year. One consistent spec highlight on these phones is the fast charging solution, which is usually amongst the fastest solutions found in the industry. But these superfast charging solutions also generate heat, so there’s a balance to be found. OnePlus has some new ideas on how this balance between fast charging and heat generation can be achieved. An APK teardown helps predict features that may arrive on a service in the future based on work-in-progress code. However, it is possibl...

WatchOS 10 killed my favorite Apple Watch features

Image
Opinion post by Dhruv Bhutani The latest watchOS 10 release is one of the most significant upgrades to the Apple Watch’s user interface ever. The upgrade principally revolves around a new widget stack that can be accessed by swiping up from the watch face. Users can then scroll through running activities or any other app they’ve pinned to the stack. In anticipation of the Apple Watch 9 , I’ve been testing the beta release of watchOS 10 for the last few weeks and can attest that the widgets speed up access to your favorite apps. However, these new additions come at the cost of two existing features I use almost daily. It goes without saying I’m pretty unhappy about it. from Android Authority https://ift.tt/8oH2XYZ

T-Mobile’s new Go5G Next plan hides a nasty surprise
