Samsung could re-release the Galaxy S21 FE

Image
Credit: Eric Zeman / Android Authority A leak suggests the Galaxy S21 FE 5G may see a re-release in 2023. The phone was initially launched in January 2022. It’s said the handset will launch in India in 10 days. We’re still waiting on Samsung to confirm the existence of a fan edition of the Galaxy S23 . Leaks have suggested it’s coming later this year. But while we wait for that news to drop, another leak suggests we may see an older Galaxy FE phone reenter the market. In a surprise turn of events, it appears the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G could get a re-release. Leaker Abhishek Yadav managed to get their hands on leaked promo material for the Snapdragon 888, 256GB of storage variant of the S21 FE 5G. According to Yadav, this handset is scheduled to launch in India in the next 10 days; there’s no information about how much it will sell for. from Android Authority https://ift.tt/funUGEy

Is ChatGPT free and open source? We have some alternatives you can try

Image
Credit: Calvin Wankhede / Android Authority AI chatbots have become an invaluable tool for many of us but not everyone’s comfortable using them just yet. Between the fact that ChatGPT saves your data and that you need an internet connection to use it, many don’t feel comfortable using it. These problems could be overcome if ChatGPT was open source, as it would allow anyone to run it on their own hardware. That’s already possible with some competitors, which we’ll talk about later. But let’s start with ChatGPT — is it free in the same sense as Android and Linux ? Is ChatGPT open source? from Android Authority https://ift.tt/lZr054g

Nothing has been showing us the Phone 2 in full but many havent noticed

Image
Credit: Nothing There have been numerous instances in the past week in which we’ve seen the Nothing Phone 2 in full. However, the company has not acknowledged it has been showing the phone, so not many have noticed. The Phone 2 will look a lot like the Phone 1 but with a few notable changes. Nothing is well known for dishing out information on its new products slowly and methodically. One feature will drip out today, and then a new, slightly different feature will drip out tomorrow. Every day there’s something new until we finally get everything revealed at the launch date. However, that’s not the case this time around with the Nothing Phone 2 . In fact, we’ve already seen the phone from every angle as shared by Nothing itself — it’s just that Nothing hasn’t said anything about it. In other words, we don’t need leaks and CAD-based renders to see the Phone 2 because Nothing has already shown it off casually! from Android Authority https://ift.tt/nWtSKFL

Samsung Galaxy A25 5G leaks proves Samsung really loves this one design

Image
Credit: Giznext Renders have leaked for the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G. The renders show a phone with the same design we’ve seen on pretty much every Samsung phone this year. This phone should be relatively inexpensive with low-end specs. Years ago, you never knew what you would get regarding a Samsung phone’s design. Even during the same release cycle, phones in one line would look drastically different from phones in another. This resulted in some phones being real winners in the design department and others being big losers. In 2023, though, Samsung has one design and it’s sticking to it. Earlier today, we saw renders leak for the Galaxy S23 FE , and they look exactly like the Galaxy S23, which also looks exactly like the Galaxy A34 5G. Id love to buy a Galaxy Watch 6 but it isnt the smartwatch for me

Image
Credit: Kris Carlon / Android Authority Opinion post by Rita El Khoury If rumors are to be believed, we’re about a month away from the Galaxy Watch 6’s launch . And we’re also a month away from me watching Samsung’s keynote with a bit of jealousy because as much as I want to love this watch, it isn’t for me. The reason is simple: Samsung keeps locking some of its watch features to its own phones and, as a multi-phone (and specifically Pixel) user, I would be missing out on several crucial features if I bought this watch. I say this with the resignation of a smartwatch fan who got a Galaxy Watch 4 in 2021 and loved how it mixed the best of Samsung with the best of Google and Wear OS. It took a few months and updates, but having access to both Bixby and Google Assistant or Samsung Pay and Google Wallet was neat. So was the ability to install Gboard and Google Messages on the watch to have a uniform experience with my phones. from Android Authority https://ift.tt/...

iPhone goes through existential crisis in new Google Pixel ads

A new series of Google Pixel ads imagine a Pixel 7 Pro and an iPhone 14 Pro Max as being the best of friends. Throughout the ads, the iPhone feels inferior to the Pixel, with the Pixel trying to be encouraging. The voices of each phone are their respective voice assistants. Buddy comedies are a staple of both TV and film. The Rush Hour series teamed up loud-mouthed Chris Tucker with the comically reserved Jackie Chan. Die Hard: With a Vengeance teamed up world-weary Bruce Willis with street-smart and sassy Samuel L. Jackson. And now, we have a new buddy comedy: iPhone and Pixel . In a series of five Google Pixel ads, Google pretends an iPhone 14 Pro Max and a Google Pixel 7 Pro are the best of friends. However, the iPhone is going through a bit of an existential crisis. In each ad, the iPhone laments that it is falling behind, as the Pixel 7 Pro’s features outshine it in various ways. from Android Authority https://ift.tt/7TUPk4B

Dont judge all of Android by the worst of Android

Image
Credit: C. Scott Brown / Android Authority Opinion post by C. Scott Brown This year hasn’t been great for Android so far. In two recent reports, Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) showed that more people than ever are jumping ship from Android to iOS . The agency says that most of these folks — about 53% — leave because of “ prior phone problems .” In other words, the users weren’t happy with their Android phone’s performance in some way and decided iOS would be a better fit. In other regions of tech, this kind of conclusion can make sense. For example, a Garmin smartwatch will be vastly superior for hardcore runners than something like a Fitbit. However, a Fitbit would likely be better for someone who isn’t an athlete but wants to keep tabs on their overall health. Experiencing any device on either of these platforms and deciding you’d rather be in a different ecosystem does not mean the original platform sucks: it just means it isn’t a good fit for your ne...
